Motorcycle Driver Killed After Being Run Over by Cargo Truck

A 24-year-old motorcycle driver was killed after his head was accidentally run over by a cargo truck in Purok Neptune, Bagong Dalan, Brgy. Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City, yesterday morning.

The victim, identified as Crister Arzaga, 24, was driving the motorcycle with his 68-year-old mother, Lolita Estaniel, as the passenger. Both were residents of the area.

According to the investigation by the Bacolod Traffic Enforcement Unit, both the cargo truck and the motorcycle were traveling in the same direction.

Arzaga attempted to overtake the cargo truck, driven by Nicolas Mancao Jr., 26, a resident of Sitio Aw-a, Sta. Catalina, Negros Oriental.

However, as Arzaga moved alongside the truck, he accidentally hit a piece of wood, causing him to lose balance and fall, leading to his head being run over by the truck’s rear wheel.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

An initial settlement has been made between the victim’s family and the truck driver.
