Motorcycle Accident Claims Life of Student in Dingras

LAOAG CITY – A student tragically lost his life after his motorcycle fell into an irrigation canal in Sitio San Fernando, Brgy. San Marcelino, Dingras.

The victim was identified as 21-year-old Jay Mark Gregorio y Balicao, a resident of Sitio Nagmarcaan in the same barangay.

According to the Dingras Municipal Police Station, around 3:30 AM today, Norbert Jacinto y Quitoras, a 50-year-old farmer from Sitio San Fernando, discovered the victim’s lifeless body in the canal along with his motorcycle.

Authorities reported that at approximately 5:00 PM on September 28, the victim attended a birthday party in Sitio Casannicolasan and was seen drinking.

He reportedly left the gathering around 2:00 AM on September 29.

Dr. Susan Calaoagan, the Municipal Health Officer of Dingras, conducted a medical examination and found multiple injuries, particularly to the head, suggesting that the victim was not wearing a protective helmet at the time of the accident.
