MMDA suspends number coding for Christmas, New Year holidays

THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Monday that it will suspend the expanded number coding scheme during the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays to help ease traffic and accommodate holiday travel.

In an advisory, the MMDA said the suspension will take effect on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, December 24, 2025 – Christmas Eve (special non-working holiday)
  • Thursday, December 25, 2025 – Christmas Day (regular holiday)
  • Tuesday, December 30, 2025 – Rizal Day (regular holiday)
  • Wednesday, December 31, 2025 – Last day of the year (special non-working holiday)
  • Thursday, January 1, 2026 – New Year’s Day (regular holiday)

The agency reminded motorists to plan their trips carefully, obey traffic rules, and prioritize road safety throughout the holiday season.
