Vietnamese authorities have arrested Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, Miss Grand International 2021, for promoting and selling counterfeit fiber supplements online.

Nguyen endorsed the product on her social media accounts, advertising it as a high-fiber gummy supplement.

However, official lab tests revealed that the product contained only 16 mg of fiber, a far cry from the 200 mg promised in promotional materials.

Nguyen rose to fame in Vietnam after winning the Miss Grand International crown, but she now faces a fraud investigation linked to her involvement in the supplement scheme.

Prior to Nguyen’s arrest, three influencers who partnered with her in promoting the product were already apprehended in March.

Reports state that over 100,000 boxes of the fake fiber supplements were sold before authorities detained the endorsers.

The investigation is still ongoing, and health authorities are reminding the public to remain cautious when purchasing products endorsed online.
