MANILA – A verified impeachment complaint against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has been formally forwarded to the Office of the Speaker at the House of Representatives.

House Secretary General Cheloy Garafil confirmed on Wednesday that her office transmitted the complaint to Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III in line with standard procedures.

Garafil stressed that the Secretary General’s role is purely administrative and “strictly guided by the Constitution, House rules, and long-standing protocol.”

Upon receiving an impeachment complaint, the office ensures it is properly logged, recorded, and endorsed to the appropriate office, a step intended to uphold order and due process, she said.

The complaint, filed earlier this week, accuses Marcos of graft and corruption, culpable violation of the Constitution, and betrayal of public trust. It was endorsed by Pusong Pinoy Party-list Rep. Jernie Jett Nisay.

Malacañang earlier rejected claims that the impeachment bid was staged to get around a Supreme Court rule prohibiting multiple impeachment complaints against the same official within a single year.
