According to Police Major Roy Tayona, chief of Lambunao Municipal Police Station, the two men were relatives. Tayona confirmed that the suspect fled with the bolo used in the crime.

Initial investigation revealed that Jeofrey and Ron-Ron were drinking alcohol with friends on January 1 when an argument broke out, reportedly fueled by intoxication.

In the heat of the dispute, Ron-Ron allegedly grabbed a machete from Jeofrey’s home and hacked him, resulting in the victim’s death.

Authorities are preparing to file a murder charge against the suspect, who remains at large.
