Police Lieutenant Colonel Arnel Solis, spokesperson for Police Regional Office 6, stated that before the incident, the couple had been drinking with the woman’s cousin, who was reportedly the source of the partner’s jealousy.

Solis reported that the cousin left early, but later, the woman noticed her partner was missing and eventually found him knocking on the cousin’s door.

Enraged, the suspect allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed the victim, inflicting a fatal wound to his abdomen.

The suspect is currently in custody at Maasin Municipal Police Station and may face murder charges.
