Man Dies After Motorcycle Collides with Cargo Truck in Bohol

A motorcycle accident in Bohol claimed the life of a man after his vehicle collided with a cargo truck in Dimiao on March 4.

The victim was identified as Richard Rangas, a 35-year-old collector and resident of Brgy. Odiong in Jagna.

In an exclusive interview with Star FM Cebu, Police Master Sergeant Boy Lapore stated that Rangas was heading to Tagbilaran City and may have fallen asleep while driving.

CCTV footage showed that Rangas was speeding and veered into the opposite lane before crashing into an oncoming cargo truck carrying a container van.

Due to the strong impact, his motorcycle was severely damaged after hitting the front of the truck.

Lapore added that the victim was rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, the unnamed cargo truck driver has reportedly reached a settlement with the victim’s family and has also extended financial assistance.

Authorities continue to remind motorists to exercise caution on the road, not only for their safety but also for the well-being of others.
