Man Dies After Accidentally Touching Live Wire from Fallen Banana Tree

A man died in Barangay Talauguis, Zarraga, Iloilo, after being electrocuted by a live wire.

The victim was identified as Elmer “Bong-bong” Almirante, a 42-year-old resident of the area.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Robito Altadero, the victim’s uncle, shared that they heard a sudden loud pop outside the house.

Upon checking, Altadero found Almirante lying on his back, his skin darkened, while holding the live wire.

Altadero immediately turned off the main switch to disconnect the victim from the live wire.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

The Office of Civil Defense reminded the public to avoid areas with exposed electrical wires to prevent similar accidents.
