Malacañang has assured the public that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is in good health amid circulating speculation on social media.
Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro made the clarification in response to rumors questioning the President’s physical condition.
Castro emphasized that the President’s daily engagements, including off-site activities and official meetings inside Malacañang, are clear indications of his well-being.
She noted that such commitments would be difficult to maintain if the President were not physically strong and mentally fit.
Castro also addressed those spreading misinformation, urging them not to create baseless narratives about the President’s health, warning that such actions are harmful to the country.
She called on the public to instead offer prayers for the President’s continued good health to ensure effective leadership for the nation.
“Many of these rumors are clearly being circulated to make it appear that the President is unwell,” Castro said.
She reiterated that media and the public witness the President actively participating in engagements almost every day, alongside internal meetings, which confirm his strong condition.
Castro concluded by discouraging fake news peddlers from acting like doctors on social media and reminded everyone that unfounded speculation is unproductive.
