Live-In Partner Refuses to Give Security Guard’s Death Certificate to Victim’s Family

The live-in partner of a slain security guard in Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City, has refused to release the original death certificate to the victim’s family.

Dholly Malalu-an, the security guard’s live-in partner, asserted in an interview with Bombo Radyo Bacolod that the victim’s family should process their own copy of the death certificate since she was the one who personally handled the documentation.

She explained that she had already informed the family of Arnold Caballes that she was no longer responsible once they claimed the remains, and the family had agreed to handle everything moving forward.

Malalu-an also expressed dismay over what she claimed was the family’s lack of respect when they retrieved Caballes’ body from their home in Barangay Cabug without waiting for the proper transfer of cadaver permit.

She further noted that when Caballes was still alive, his family barely acknowledged her, yet they suddenly became involved after his passing.
