LGBTQIA+ Member Found Dead in Cagayan River; Family, Advocates Demand Justice

A member of the LGBTQIA+ community from Peñablanca, Cagayan was found dead floating in a river in Amulung early Monday morning.

The victim was identified as Gian Molina, who had been reported missing for two days before his body was discovered near a cornfield in the area.

Prior to the discovery, Gian’s brother, John Andrei Dulin Molina, made a public appeal on social media for help in locating him.

Authorities confirmed the recovery of Gian’s remains several days later.

The LGBTQIA+ community in Cagayan strongly condemned the incident and expressed condolences to the victim’s family.

Gian’s family and relatives also called for a thorough investigation and justice over his death.

As of now, police have yet to release an official report confirming if foul play was involved or if there are any persons of interest.

Gian’s body is set to undergo a postmortem examination to determine the official cause of death.
