Sheila Guo’s lawyer, Atty. Stephen David, has challenged those questioning his client’s testimony during the Senate hearing on Tuesday, August 27, to present evidence that she is lying.

Atty. David, who also represents the dismissed former mayor of Bamban, Tarlac, Alice Guo, asserted that anyone doubting Sheila’s statements should provide concrete proof of their claims.

In Sheila’s defense, Atty. David recounted an instance where she asked Alice Guo about their destination the night they left the Philippines but did not receive a clear answer.

According to David, Alice told Sheila not to ask questions for her own good and that she wouldn’t get an answer anyway.

Sheila, therefore, relied on her companion, David said, adding that he believes in his client’s story. He also affirmed Sheila’s statement that she had no knowledge of the Guo family’s business dealings.

During the Senate hearing, it was revealed that Sheila Guo is not actually Alice Guo’s sister but the niece of Lin Wen Yi, the girlfriend of Alice’s father, Jian Zhong Ghuo. Sheila also possesses a Chinese passport under the name Zhang Mier, valid until 2031.
