Several former and incumbent senators have strongly denied allegations that they benefited from irregular flood control projects after being named by former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo during a Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing.

Bernardo identified former senators Grace Poe, Nancy Binay, and Sonny Angara as alleged recipients of kickbacks from the projects.

Angara refuted the accusation, stressing that he had no involvement in any anomaly.

Poe expressed disappointment at the inclusion of her name in the list and said she believes the Department of Justice should dismiss the allegations.

Binay likewise denied any connection to the flood control projects, emphasizing that she had no role or participation in the said initiatives.

Bernardo also mentioned Senator Mark Villar as allegedly linked to the controversy.

Villar firmly rejected the claim, declaring that the statements against him were baseless and untrue.

The flood control projects have become the focus of a Senate investigation following reports of widespread corruption.
