Manila Representative Rolando Valeriano called on potential whistleblowers to come forward with information regarding the alleged misuse of funds by Vice President Sara Duterte’s Office of the Vice President (OVP).

During a hearing of the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability, Valeriano emphasized the importance of evidence and testimony from whistleblowers, particularly related to the OVP’s socioeconomic programs.

In his privilege speech, Valeriano expressed concern over the lack of transparency surrounding the OVP’s spending of billions on socioeconomic programs, particularly those focused on Metro Manila.

He challenged the OVP to provide proof of its initiatives and criticized Vice President Duterte for her refusal to answer questions during the hearing on the OVP’s proposed 2025 budget.

Despite the scrutiny, VP Sara continues to defer the budget decisions for her office to Speaker Martin Romualdez.
