Justice Secretary Remulla Warns Timor-Leste of Possible POGO Relocation

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla warned Timor-Leste President José Ramos-Horta that Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs) may shift their operations to Timor-Leste after being banned in the Philippines.

During his visit to Timor-Leste, where he personally met President Ramos-Horta, Remulla conveyed President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s message regarding the official ban on POGOs in the Philippines.

The possibility of Timor-Leste becoming the next target location for POGO operations was discussed.

Additionally, security issues and the extradition of expelled lawmaker Arnolfo Teves Jr. were also on the agenda.

Remulla expressed hope for Timor-Leste’s cooperation in bringing Teves back to the Philippines.
