Authorities in Seoul’s Songpa police station confirmed Friday that the woman is under investigation for alleged sexual harassment.

Her identity has not been disclosed, but reports indicate she is in her 50s and has so far refused to appear for questioning.

The incident occurred in June 2024, a day after Jin completed his mandatory military service. As part of BTS’ 11th-anniversary celebrations, he offered free hugs to fans at a Seoul event attended by around 1,000 people.

During the gathering, the woman suddenly kissed Jin on the cheek, leaving him visibly uncomfortable, as captured in viral video footage.

South Korean police, with assistance from Japanese authorities, were able to identify the suspect after an online complaint was filed. Investigations are ongoing.
