The Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of Palanan, Isabela is set to evacuate residents, particularly those in coastal barangays, in anticipation of Typhoon Enteng.

According to Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Assistant John Bert Neri in an interview with Bombo Radyo Cauayan, preemptive evacuations will be conducted without waiting for the typhoon to make landfall.

While no preemptive evacuation has been ordered yet, barangay captains have been authorized to initiate evacuations if necessary.

Four barangays in Palanan may become isolated if water levels in rivers continue to rise. The ongoing construction of a bridge in Brgy. Dimatican’s river poses a challenge for residents who may need to cross.

Although river levels are currently normal, strict no-sail policies and restrictions on river crossings using boats have been implemented as a precautionary measure.

Authorities have assured the public that they are prepared to address the potential impacts of Typhoon Enteng.
