The VP Sara Duterte impeachment process has gained enough support from lawmakers, according to House Secretary General Reginald Velasco.

Velasco confirmed that the number of lawmakers signing the impeachment complaint continues to rise, surpassing the required 103 votes or one-third of the House membership.

As of noon, a congressional source reported that at least 140 lawmakers had signed, with Velasco stating that the number has already exceeded 150 and could reach 200.

Velasco announced that he will officially report on the impeachment status during the plenary session at 3:00 PM today.

A caucus attended by majority congressmen was held earlier this morning to discuss the proceedings.

Velasco previously hinted at a fast-tracked impeachment process and described today’s plenary session as “exciting.”
