House leaders have condemned former Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque for his refusal to surrender to the Quad Committee, which is investigating issues related to Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO), illegal drugs, extrajudicial killings, and human trafficking. They argue that his actions indicate guilt.
Sta. Rosa City Representative Dan Fernandez and Surigao del Norte Representative Robert Ace Barbers strongly criticized Roque for failing to attend the hearings and for not submitting the requested documents.
This resulted in him being held in contempt once again.
Both lawmakers praised the Philippine National Police (PNP) for joining the manhunt operations against Roque, who has been declared a fugitive.
The House leaders emphasized that Roque’s refusal to cooperate with the investigation raises doubts about his innocence.
Fernandez pointed out that if Roque has nothing to hide, he should not evade the inquiry and must submit the required documents.
Barbers echoed the statement, adding that if Roque believes in transparency and accountability, he should face the Quad Committee.
