Truck Accident in Nueva Vizcaya claimed the life of a helper after a Wing Van lost its brakes and overturned along the national highway in Barangay San Luis, Diadi.
The incident involved an Isuzu Aluminum Wing Van driven by 34-year-old Alvin Casem Velasco, a resident of Matabang Maasin, Mangaldan, Pangasinan.
According to information obtained by Bombo Radyo Cauayan from the Nueva Vizcaya Police Provincial Office, the vehicle was traversing the highway around 3:00 PM on April 23 when the driver reportedly lost control due to brake failure on a downhill, curved section of the road.
The driver attempted to avoid oncoming vehicles but ultimately crashed into a wall, causing the truck to overturn on the northbound lane.
The helper, identified as Jay Ar Jimenez, was pinned under the overturned truck but was later extricated from the wreckage.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival by attending medical personnel.
The accident has caused significant traffic congestion in the area as authorities work to clear the site.
