Former Presidential Spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque has denied claims that the Netherlands has rejected or ended his asylum application process.
Roque clarified that his asylum proceedings are still ongoing, contrary to circulating reports.
He stressed that only he and the Dutch government have access to the asylum application details due to confidentiality protocols.
Roque dismissed the claims as fake news, asserting that no third party could obtain information about his case.
Amid the controversy, Roque proudly announced that he has obtained a National ID from the Netherlands.
He explained that the identity card serves as legal proof of his residency while staying in the country.
Roque, who served as presidential spokesperson for former President Duterte, was ordered arrested by a Philippine court over his alleged involvement in illegal POGO operations.
He remains among several fugitives with pending legal cases, including Bureau of Corrections Chief Gerald Bantag and Former Police Lt. Col. Rafaela Dumlao III.
The Department of Justice has coordinated efforts with Philippine National Police Chief General Nicolas Torre III to apprehend the fugitives.
