Giant Banana in Laoag City Captivates Residents with Its Size

A massive banana growing in Barangay Apaya, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte has captured the attention of locals and netizens due to its unusual size.

According to the owner of the banana tree, Marilou Diego, she has been closely monitoring the fruit because, unlike a typical banana bunch, this one grew as a single giant banana.

The fruit measures an impressive 40 inches in length and weighs over one kilogram.

Instead of consuming the banana right away, Diego decided to share it on her social media accounts, where it quickly went viral, garnering numerous views and comments.

It was revealed that the tree took 11 months to bear the giant fruit, and like most bananas, it is sweet in taste.
