The event was part of the Sports and Socio-Cultural Festival at Isabela State University – Ilagan Campus.

Idago’s father, Thomas, learned about his son’s death while in Manila and immediately traveled to Isabela.

He delayed having his son’s body embalmed, hoping he might still be revived.

The father said his son had no known medical conditions and was physically active, frequently jogging, cycling, and swimming.

He was not aware his son was participating in the fun run and had not signed any waiver for the event.

While he supports such activities, he urged the university to ensure that students are physically fit before allowing them to participate.
