A live-in couple died following a stabbing incident at their home in Purok Eucalyptus, Barangay Tabugon, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental on Monday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Marilie Satinyamian, 26, and Fernan Pacunla, in his 30s, who lived together in the same house where the stabbing occurred.

According to Police Lt. Col. Roberto Indiape, chief of the Kabankalan City Police Station, the incident was preceded by a heated argument after Pacunla reportedly refused to allow Satinyamian to return to Bacolod City.

Satinyamian worked as a household helper in Bacolod, while Pacunla was a laborer in Kabankalan.

Authorities could not determine who stabbed first, but Indiape said it’s possible both attacked each other simultaneously.

Satinyamian was declared dead at the scene due to multiple stab wounds on different parts of her body.

Pacunla was rushed to the District Hospital and later referred to a hospital in Bacolod City but died in transit.

Indiape confirmed the case is now considered closed, as both individuals involved have died.

The couple had no children together, though Satinyamian had a six-year-old child from a previous relationship.

No witnesses were present at the time of the incident, as the couple was alone inside their home.
