Family Seeks Justice for Murdered Woman and Assaulted Teen in Sara, Iloilo

The family of two victims from Sara, Iloilo, is calling for justice after one woman was murdered and a 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in Barangay Arante.

Grace Asiwagan Fortaleza, 44, was identified as the fatal victim, while the teenager, who was assaulted, lived with her in the same house.

According to Lota Asiwagan, Fortaleza’s sister, the teenage victim woke her up to inform her of the crime.

The suspect, still unidentified, reportedly entered the house through a window, committing the crimes before fleeing with the victims’ cell phones.

Sara Municipal Police are continuing the investigation. The suspect was reportedly wearing a bonnet and had destroyed the home’s CCTV camera.

The teenage victim sustained a neck wound as she resisted during the assault.
