THE family of a police officer who was killed and dismembered in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City, has dismissed the extrajudicial confession of the suspects as false.

According to a report from one media source, the family stated on social media rejecting claims made by the suspects, calling the incident a premeditated massacre.

“For the past few days, malicious news has been spreading, claiming my father was caught in a sexual act with a woman, which allegedly led to his shooting by her husband,” the family wrote on Facebook. “This report is based on the ‘FALSE’ extrajudicial confession of the two individuals who killed my father.”

Initial police reports state that the victim, a police executive master sergeant, was shot on November 28 by a fellow officer after allegedly being caught in an intimate situation with the suspect’s wife, also a police officer.

The male suspect reportedly used a hacksaw to chop the body and buried the remains at his ancestral home in Baguio City. Authorities recovered the body on December 5 after the suspect revealed its location.

The Southern Police District (SPD) is considering a “crime of passion” as a possible motive. However, the victim’s family has dismissed this angle, alleging the killing was a coordinated attack involving up to 20 individuals.

“For clarity, this was a setup that began with a forcible abduction and merciless torture, planned as early as March 2024, culminating in the tragic death of my father,” the family said.

The SPD confirmed that murder charges may be filed against the suspects, who remain in police custody as investigations continue.
