The house, a 3-unit bungalow owned by Allan Flores, had one unoccupied unit for over a month.

The two other units were home to family members who were at a nearby wake for a deceased relative when the fire broke out.

According to SFO1 Christian Ramirez of the Alicia Fire Station, a witness reported smelling something burning before the house suddenly caught fire.

The blaze spread quickly due to the house’s light materials and the presence of combustible items inside.

The fire was extinguished after more than 15 minutes, thanks to the efforts of local residents.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the neighboring houses, made of concrete materials, were spared from the flames.

Initial damage estimates are pegged at around PHP 200,000.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Alicia Fire Station.
