The case concerns the alleged illegal transfer of billions of pesos by the DOH to the Procurement Service of the Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) for the purchase of COVID-19 medical supplies during the height of the pandemic.

Duque added that he will seek legal remedies to challenge the Ombudsman’s resolution, not only in the Sandiganbayan but also in the Supreme Court.

Previously, former Department of Budget and Management Undersecretary Lloyd Christopher Lao, also accused of graft, posted bail after being arrested on his way to court.

Lao posted a P90,000 bail last Wednesday morning.
