Ex-Congressman Arnie Teves Faces New Arraignment Over Terrorism Financing Charges

Former Negros Oriental Representative Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves Jr. attended his latest arraignment at the Quezon City Regional Trial Court on charges related to terrorism financing.

Teves is accused of violating Section 4(a) of Republic Act No. 10168, also known as the Terrorism Financing Prevention and Suppression Act of 2012.

Although Teves was unable to appear in person, his counsel, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, confirmed his presence via video conference.

During the proceedings, Teves invoked his constitutional right against self-incrimination.

Consequently, Quezon City RTC Branch 77 entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.

The court scheduled the pre-trial for the terrorism financing case this August.

Aside from this, the former congressman also faces multiple cases involving illegal possession of firearms, explosives, and murder.

He is currently recovering from surgery due to severe abdominal pain.
