Engineer Electrocuted While Installing Extension Wire in Tuguegarao

An engineer died from electrocution in Tuguegarao City while installing an electric extension wire.

The victim, identified by PNP Tuguegarao spokesperson Pcapt. Ana Marie Anog as “JV,” a 25-year-old industrial engineer from San Pedro Tumauini, Isabela, was found lifeless after the incident.

According to the investigation, the victim was seen atop a delivery truck using a ladder while his coworkers unloaded parcels along Bagay Road, Caritan Norte at around 3 PM.

When coworkers noticed he was unresponsive, they alerted their superior, who then switched off the circuit breaker.

CCTV footage revealed that the victim began installing an extension wire at around 1:05 PM, intending to add an additional socket.

At 1:10 PM, the footage showed him being electrocuted, but his body was only discovered around 3 PM, indicating he had been electrocuted for nearly two hours.

Emergency services from MDRRMO, BFP, and PHO responded immediately but the victim was already lifeless by the time they arrived.

The body has since been brought home, and authorities ruled out foul play, determining that the cause of death was accidental electrocution.
