Elderly Woman Killed After Being Pinned by Pick-Up Truck

Elderly woman killed in Cagayan road accident after she was pinned between a parked elf truck and a pick-up vehicle in Barangay Nasipping, Gattaran, Cagayan.

According to the Gattaran Municipal Police Station, the elf truck had just come from an outing and was parked along the roadside in front of a local establishment so passengers could buy souvenirs and use the restroom.

The victim, identified as alias Sol, a 68-year-old resident of Benito Soliven, was stepping down from the elf truck when the incident occurred.

A pick-up truck driven by alias Rod, a 49-year-old resident of Isabela, rammed into the parked elf truck, pinning the elderly woman between the two vehicles.

The suspect claimed he swerved to avoid another elderly woman crossing the road but lost control of his brakes due to his speed.

This led to a collision with the rear portion of the elf truck, causing fatal injuries to the victim.

The impact broke the woman’s leg and caused multiple injuries, and she was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

Authorities are conducting further investigation to determine liabilities and assess possible charges.
