Eight-Month Pregnant Woman Electrocuted in Nueva Vizcaya Tragedy

A tragic accident claimed the life of a pregnant woman in Barangay Arwas, Diadi, Nueva Vizcaya. The victim, who was eight months pregnant, was electrocuted while attempting to repair a malfunctioning water pump.

According to Police Lieutenant Lary-Mar Paguirigan, the victim’s mother was initially electrocuted while cleaning the area around the pump. The pregnant woman rushed to her mother’s aid but was also shocked when she came into contact with a live wire that had fallen to the ground.

Despite immediate assistance from neighbors and transport to a medical facility, the pregnant woman was declared dead on arrival.

The police investigation revealed that the water pump had been non-functional for three days, and the electrical lines may have been compromised due to exposure to the elements.
