The Philippine National Police (PNP) recorded 15 drowning-related deaths during the observance of Semana Santa.

According to the PNP, two minors drowned in the Ilocos Region, three adults in Central Luzon, two minors in Calabarzon, one minor in Mimaropa, two minors in the Bicol Region, one minor in Western Visayas, and one adult in the Cordillera Administrative Region.
PNP chief Gen. Rommel Marbil previously reminded resort operators and local government units to prioritize the safety of their guests.
He expressed sadness over the incidents, describing them as tragic and preventable.
In response, he appealed to the public to ensure that children are not left unsupervised near rivers or the sea, to wear life vests when necessary, and to avoid swimming in areas without lifeguards or proper safety supervision.
The PNP continues to promote safety awareness and encourages communities to remain vigilant during holiday and vacation periods.
