CAUAYAN CITY – In preparation for the impact of Typhoon Enteng, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 2 has prepositioned family food packs in various municipalities in Region 2.
In a statement to Bombo Radyo Cauayan, Regional Director Lucia Alan assured the public that the department is fully prepared to respond to the disaster by pre-positioning these relief goods for distribution to affected residents.
A total of 122,648 family food packs have been prepared by the DSWD, with 61,168 already distributed to the provinces for immediate distribution.
The remaining 61,490 food packs are stored in DSWD warehouses, primarily in strategic areas such as Santiago City, Ilagan City in Isabela, and Tuguegarao City, Abulug, and Camalaniugan in Cagayan.
These can be supplemented if the supplies prepositioned in the local government units (LGUs) are depleted.
Based on the report received, two families from Cabarroguis, Quirino, have already been evacuated to an evacuation center.
Regional Director Alan assured the public that they are on 24/7 alert to immediately provide assistance to affected residents.
