DAGUPAN CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 1 has prepared 75,000 food packs, valued at approximately ₱90 million, to assist communities in Region 1 that may be affected by Typhoon Julian.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo Dagupan, DSWD Field Office 1 Regional Director Marie Angela Gopalan stated that no relief has been distributed yet, as no major reports of affected families have been received aside from four families from Vigan, Ilocos Sur, who are currently in evacuation centers.

The DSWD is ready to provide various types of assistance, including food packs, hygiene kits, family packs, and other essentials based on the needs of affected communities.

Gopalan emphasized that the agency’s response is swift, thanks to its 19 warehouses distributed across different local government units (LGUs) in the region, enabling faster distribution of aid.
