Drunken Argument Turns Deadly: Carpenter Killed by Own Brother

A carpenter was killed after being struck on the head with an axe by his own brother in Barangay Villapaz, Naguilian, Isabela, police confirmed.

According to PLt Mirasol Pelagio, Chief of Operations at the Naguilian Police Station, the victim was identified as 36-year-old Jimmy Lobendino, who was married and worked as a carpenter, while the suspect was his brother, known only by the alias “Mario.”

The investigation revealed that prior to the incident, the two brothers were drinking with their brother-in-law.

After consuming three bottles of alcohol, a heated argument broke out between the siblings.

Their brother-in-law attempted to intervene, but the suspect managed to grab an axe and struck the victim on the head, resulting in his immediate death.

Further investigation showed that the brothers lived in the same house and frequently argued when under the influence of alcohol.

It was also noted that the victim had a history of becoming violent when intoxicated.

Authorities stated that there was no deep-seated grudge between the brothers, and the crime was likely committed due to the influence of alcohol.

The suspect voluntarily surrendered to their Barangay Captain, who then handed him over to the police.
