Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo has been returned to the Philippines following her arrest in Indonesia. She was accompanied by Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos and Philippine National Police Chief Rommel Marbil.

The private plane carrying Guo landed around 1:00 AM. Initially scheduled for yesterday, the flight was delayed due to process adjustments between the Philippines and Indonesia, leading to a nighttime departure for the team retrieving the former mayor.

It is remembered that Alice Guo was last seen in the Philippines on May 22, 2024, when she faced the Senate investigation regarding her involvement in Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) activities.

In early July, she was suspended as mayor. Soon after, Guo fled the country, accompanied by Wesley Guo, Shiela Guo, and Cassandra Ong.

By July 18, 2024, it was reported that the group had entered Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. On July 21, 2024, they boarded a flight to Singapore, where they stayed for almost a month.

On August 18, 2024, they left Singapore and headed to Batam, Indonesia. The following day, Senator Risa Hontiveros announced that Alice Guo had fled the Philippines.
