DBM Approves ₱2,000 Honoraria Hike for 2025 Poll Workers and Teachers

The 2025 election honoraria increase for teachers and poll workers was approved by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) on Monday, May 12.

DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman announced in a statement that the decision followed President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive.

Under the new rates, electoral board chairpersons will now receive ₱12,000, up from the previous ₱10,000.
Poll clerks and third members will each receive ₱11,000 compared to the previous ₱9,000.

Support staff will get ₱8,000, up from the prior ₱6,000 honoraria.

The DBM revealed that ₱7.4 billion has been allocated under the 2025 General Appropriations Act to fund the honoraria.

Citing data from the Commission on Elections (Comelec), DBM said a total of 758,549 poll workers are expected to serve in the national and local elections.

Secretary Pangandaman also urged Comelec to ensure the prompt and efficient distribution of compensation to all teachers and poll workers.
