The Pasig City Regional Trial Court has ordered the transfer of Alice Guo and her co-accused to a regular jail facility as they face charges of qualified human trafficking.

According to the court directive, Guo will be moved from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Facility in Quezon City to the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory.

PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo did not specify when Guo’s transfer would take place. Fajardo added that Guo is set to undergo her initial arraignment at the Valenzuela Regional Trial Court later today.

Meanwhile, Guo’s legal team is assessing their next legal move in response to the court’s new directive.

Atty. Stephen David, Guo’s legal counsel, expressed concerns about threats to the former mayor’s life, though he did not disclose the source of these threats.

It can be recalled that the Tarlac Regional Trial Court Branch 109 issued a warrant of arrest for Guo on September 5 for alleged violations of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.

The case has since been transferred from the Tarlac RTC to the Valenzuela RTC.

The court set bail at ₱180,000 for Guo, but she has chosen not to post bail and has remained in the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame since September 6.
