Couple Found Dead After Alleged Murder-Suicide

Police in Barangay Sawang, Dimiao, Bohol are investigating a tragic shooting that claimed the lives of a married couple early Wednesday, July 2, 2025.

The victims were identified as 56-year-old municipal accountant Dominic Maguyon and his wife, businesswoman Letecia Maguyon.

According to PMSgt Boy Duaves Lapore of Dimiao Municipal Police Station, initial findings suggest Dominic shot his wife in the head before taking his own life.

Responding officers found both bodies lying on the floor, bloodied and lifeless, with a caliber .45 pistol discovered beside the male victim.

Police are continuing to gather evidence and testimonies, with investigators considering depression as a possible factor behind the incident.

Authorities await post-mortem examination results to determine if foul play was involved.

A household helper claimed the couple was having a quiet conversation before two gunshots suddenly rang out.

Lapore stressed the importance of open communication with family and close friends, along with spiritual support, to help prevent such tragedies.
