A 31-year-old policeman was fatally stabbed by a man in Barangay Ugac Norte, Tuguegarao City.
The victim, identified as Patrolman Alvin Cabrera, was a resident of the same barangay, according to PCapt. Rose Marie Taguiam, the information officer of the PNP Tuguegarao.
The suspect, a resident of Barangay Pengue Ruyu, allegedly chased the victim after a minor road incident.
Witnesses reported seeing the suspect get off his tricycle and repeatedly stab the policeman.
CCTV footage showed the policeman falling to the ground after being stabbed. Witness earlier reports that the victim had bumped into the suspect’s tricycle.
Before the incident, the suspect had flagged down the policeman but the victim continued driving.
The suspect then pursued the policeman and the two men had a heated argument while driving.
When the policeman was about to park, the suspect stabbed him four times.
The victim did not retaliate and instead sought help from a nearby convenience store.
Despite being rushed to the hospital, the policeman succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect has been arrested and is facing murder charges.
