Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia has refuted allegations that the commission singled out former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo.

The chairman asserted that multiple individuals have been charged with misrepresentation, and Guo’s case was simply one of many.

Garcia explained that the commission filed approximately 40 misrepresentation cases in August alone. He emphasized that not all cases receive the same level of public attention, as many involve less high-profile individuals.

Regarding Guo’s case, Garcia stated that the commission’s fingerprint analysis experts conducted a series of tests, the results of which provided substantial evidence to support the misrepresentation charges against her.

The chairman further emphasized that despite the significant public interest in Guo’s case, all complaints undergo due process.
