The Commission on Elections (Comelec) First Division has ordered the camp of KOJC founder and senatorial aspirant Pastor Apollo Quiboloy to comment on his disqualification case.

The directive was issued at the Comelec headquarters in Palacio del Gobernador, Intramuros, Manila.

According to the poll body’s summon, Quiboloy must submit a verified Answer cum memorandum within the given period.

Failure to file the necessary documents will bar the respondent from submitting contravening evidence.

Once Quiboloy’s response is received, or if the deadline lapses, the case will be considered submitted for resolution.

The disqualification case was filed by labor leader and senatorial aspirant Sonny Matula.

Matula’s petition seeks to cancel Quiboloy’s senatorial candidacy for the 2025 midterm elections, citing “material misrepresentation.”

The controversy stems from Quiboloy’s certificate of candidacy, where he declared his affiliation with a political party that denies his membership.

Quiboloy’s camp has since requested Comelec to recognize him as an independent aspirant.
