PHILIPPINE Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has predicted cloudy skies with scattered rains in various parts of the country on Saturday, Dec. 21.
According to PAGASA, the shear line will affect Southern Luzon and Visayas, while the northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” will impact the rest of Luzon.
Regions including Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Visayas, and Dinagat Islands are expected to experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line.
Meanwhile, the Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi may face similar weather conditions caused by the trough of a low-pressure area (LPA).
In Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, and Bulacan, cloudy skies with light to moderate rain are expected as the northeast monsoon persists.
The rest of Luzon will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains brought by “amihan.”
For the rest of Mindanao, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are forecast due to the trough of the LPA.
PAGASA has cautioned residents in affected areas to be vigilant against potential flash floods or landslides, especially in regions experiencing moderate to heavy rainfall or severe thunderstorms.
