Filipina beauty queen Christine Juliane “CJ” Opiaza has officially been crowned Miss Grand International 2024 in a grand ceremony in Bangkok, Thailand.
Fans and Miss Grand International (MGI) officials warmly welcomed Opiaza upon her arrival, including MGI President Nawat Itsaragrisil, who personally greeted her.
The coronation took place on June 3, 2025, following the controversy surrounding Rachel Gupta of India, who was initially declared the winner but later relinquished the title.
Opiaza, a seasoned pageant competitor from Zambales, Philippines, is known for her exceptional runway skills and has helped train other beauty queens in the country.
According to the MGI organization, the crowning ceremony was held at MGI Hall of Bravo BKK in Bangkok at 3 PM Manila time.
Her victory marks the first-ever golden crown for the Philippines, following previous first runner-up finishes by Nicole Cordoves (2016) and Samantha Bernardo (2020).
