Chief of Police Shot Dead in Cagayan de Oro

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY—The chief of police of Cogon Police Station was shot and killed by motorcycle-riding gunmen in front of a memorial park in Barangay Bulua.

The victim was identified as Police Captain Abulcahar Armama, commander of Cogon Police Station under the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO).

Police Regional Office 10 Director Brigadier General Jaysen de Guzman rushed to the scene after learning about the incident.

Captain Armama was immediately brought to Polymedic Plaza in Barangay Kauswagan but was declared dead on arrival.

Brig. Gen. De Guzman has yet to release sensitive information while instructing the intelligence community to identify the mastermind and suspects involved in the killing.

Captain Armama was known for his active role in anti-illegal drug operations in his jurisdiction.
