Brutal Shooting: Father Killed, Son Fighting for Life

A father was killed, and his son remains in critical condition following a shooting incident in Asturias, Cebu, on Sunday night, October 13, 2024.

The victims were identified by police as 46-year-old Jasper Tito Zorilla and his 24-year-old son, Jericho Echavez.

According to the initial investigation, the suspect entered the victims’ home and shot the father, prompting his wife and son to rush him to the nearest hospital in Balamban on a motorcycle.

The suspect reportedly followed the family and, upon catching up, fired again, hitting the son in the head as he held his father, while the mother was driving the motorcycle.

The impact caused the motorcycle to lose balance, resulting in a crash.

All three family members were brought to the hospital, where the father was declared dead on arrival.

The son remains in critical condition, while the mother sustained injuries but is stable.

Witnesses identified the suspect as Michael Saba Roso, a resident of Barangay Singsing, Balamban.

Roso voluntarily surrendered to the Balamban Police Station and is currently in custody.
