Boyfriend Arrested for Rape and Homicide of Woman Found Buried on Lingayen Beach

Dagupan City – A 21-year-old man is now facing charges of rape with homicide following the discovery of his girlfriend’s body buried on Lingayen Beach.

Authorities arrested the suspect at the Lingayen Municipal Police Station after he voluntarily went there to give a statement about the victim.

According to PLtCol. Amor Mio Somine, Acting Chief of Police of Lingayen MPS, the suspect was arrested within 26 hours of investigation when a witness positively identified him.

The witness had seen the suspect and the victim arguing the night before the crime occurred.

A vendor in the area testified that she noticed the couple after selling them goods.

When she returned, she saw the suspect digging while the victim lay nearby.

Further investigation revealed CCTV footage showing the couple shopping at a grocery store before heading to the baywalk area at 8:17 PM, where the victim was last seen alive.

Under police interrogation, the suspect admitted to the crime.

Authorities are continuing to investigate whether the suspect had accomplices in the incident.
