“Yesterday, I spoke with President-elect Trump to congratulate him on his victory. And I assured him that I would direct my entire Administration to work with his team to ensure a peaceful and orderly transition. That’s what the American people deserve,” he stated.

He also saluted Vice President Kamala Harris on her campaign and proudly commended her character.

“Vice President Kamala Harris ran an inspiring campaign that allowed everyone to see something I learned early on: She has a backbone like a ramrod and great character. True character.”

Biden also addressed the loss that Democrats have felt but stated the importance of acceptance in a Democratic country.

“I know for some people, it’s a time for victory. For others, it’s a time of loss. Campaigns are contests of competing visions. The country chooses one or the other, and we accept the choice the country made. I said many times, you can’t love your country only when you win. You can’t love your neighbor only when you agree, something I hope we can do no matter who you voted for, to see each other not as adversaries, but as fellow Americans,” he emphasized.

The President paid gratitude to his staff who’s been with him over the last four years during his term, and reminded them of the great work that they’ve done.

“To our incredible staff, supporters, Cabinet members, and people who’ve been hanging out with me for the last four years – thank you. I know it’s a difficult time. I hear you. I see you. But don’t forget all that we’ve accomplished. Much of the work we’ve done is already being felt by the American people, but the vast majority of it will be felt over the next ten years.”

Biden also promised he would make the most out of the 74 days left of his term as President of the country.

“On January 20th, we will have a peaceful transfer of power in America. Now we have 74 days to finish the term, our term. Let’s make every day count. That’s the responsibility we have to the American people. Setbacks are unavoidable, but giving up is unforgivable. Defeat does not mean we are defeated.”

Biden’s term as the 46th president of the United States began with his inauguration on January 20, 2021.

At the November 5, 2024 US Elections, Trump emerged as the winner of the intense and epic election battle between him and US Vice President Kamala Harris. He will be inaugurated on January 20, 2025.
